Make the shield work.
Then make it hurt.

This is a Templar PvE guide, not an all-class encyclopedia. The practical starting point is the relationship between shield skills and Judgment: learn that engine first, then make your stigma and upgrade choices support it.

CHAPTER 01

Understand the damage engine before copying the bar

The global community reference identifies Shield Smite, Warding Strike, Shield Rush and Doom Shield as Judgment triggers. Pummel fills the gaps, and Punishment provides a charged damage window. Knowing these jobs makes an unfamiliar skill bar readable.

Think in relationships: a shield action creates an opportunity; Judgment consumes the opportunity; a filler keeps you active when the useful actions are unavailable. Do not replace a shield trigger simply because its direct hit looks weaker on its own.

Begin with manual inputs. Use a single available trigger, confirm Judgment lights up, use it, then return to your filler while watching the encounter. Once that link is familiar, add the charged burst when the boss gives you a safe window.

CHAPTER 02

Separate threat, survival and damage

A tank has three different problems. Losing the target to a party member is threat control; being defeated by a mechanic is survival; missing the clear time is damage. The cheapest useful change depends on which one is failing.

If you lose the target, inspect the taunt role and your opening before replacing armor. If you survive comfortably but the group is slow, look at unused Judgment opportunities. If a heavy attack defeats you, shorten the greedy burst window and keep the defensive response available.

Use the live tooltip as the name reference. Global and KR/TW sources can differ in skill names, progression and stigma capacity. This edition uses the four-slot Global Season 1 baseline reported by the October 7 reference.

UP NEXT / CHAPTER 03

Four stigma slots. Which one earns its place?

Doom Shield supports the engine, Taunt serves a party responsibility, and another offensive pick competes for the remaining space. Continue with the actual baseline, manual opening and priority table—plus the mistakes that make a copied build feel weak.

QUICK ANSWERS

Still stuck?

Are the names identical on every server?+

Not necessarily. Match the skill function and live tooltip as well as the translated name.

Is the rotation tool connected to my game?+

No. It is an original, offline decision trainer. It does not log in, control your client or run external macros.
